Trinity Harvest Festival
Welcome to Trinity Trumpet Website
Amanda Ellis will be running once again in the London Marathon in April 2020. She is raising money for the whizz-kids.org.uk charity who provide wheelchairs for disabled youngsters. Many of you were kind enough to sponsor her last time she did it either directly or through 'Justgiving'.
This time Amanda has to raise £2000 for the charity and in return for donations either directly through me (her Mum) or 'Justgiving', she is making home made soaps for you in return. She cannot sell the soaps, but can provide them to order for Christmas presents or whenever. These soaps can be made into presentation packs or boxes. I have some samples of the soap choices which I will bring to the service on 17th November. If, for example, you wish to sponsor her for £10 she will provide 3 or 4 soaps in a box. The soaps are made from natural products and smell heavenly!
Please contact me
if you wish to know any more details.
Thank you. Di Ellis

We Will Remember Them
Remembrance Sunday Parade
On a cold November morning the St Andrews Church was full for the Service of Rembrance.
Following the Service of Remembrance there was the parade led by former service men.
Shifnal Cricket Club Firework Display
What a spectacular firework display at Shifnal Cricket Club on 'Guy Fawkes Night', November 5th.
The crowds turned out in big numbers expecting a repeat of last years display and they weren't to be disappointed. The general opinion was that it was even better.
Thanks to Jorden Barnett for sending in this video and if this whets your appetite a longer version can be seen by clicking here.

SAY YES Prayer Initiative November 2019
The Gsus Live lorry arrived on Friday last and will be at Idsall for the 1st full week of November. As the young people investigate Jesus’ teaching on fear, forgiveness and His relevance for today we are asked to pray particularly for:
Clear communication by the presenters of what the Bible teaches.
Further development of relationships with Idsall
the visits by the pupils and staff to the presentations
safety and security
that Gsus Live will have a lasting impact.
and for the smooth running of the I.T. hardware and software.
They will be going on to 4 other schools in Telford in the following weeks so you may care to pray for the success of the visits there too.
Please pray also for the young people of Kemberton and as always a young person associated with your own community.
God bless you all
Shifnal and Albrighton Christian Youth Project
Company limited by guarantee registered in England No. 6784541: Charity No. 1128054
St Mary's Church Centre, Vicarage Field, Albrighton, Wolverhampton, WV7 3EQ
As always thank you for your prayer support.
Two main items this month. Mark and the Gsus Live lorry.
First then Mark. He has come home from his intensive treatment in Birmingham, leaving him somewhat weakened. After a revisit the consultants are satisfied that all is going well. Mark asks for prayers now for his recovery, add to that: support for his family. It has been a long journey over the last 12 months or so; there is much to thank God for,we trust that this is the last hurdle as we entrust Mark and his family to the healing power of God to His praise and glory.
A prayer from the President and Vice-President of the Methodist Conference
for unknown people who have died in a lorry
for unknown suffering to family and friends
we pray with heartbreak and sorrow
we know this should never happen
we know that behind the headlines there is an unheard story of despair
we know that we have overlooked things we should have seen
we know that as individuals and a society we need to change
for God’s sake
bring us to our knees in contrition and to our feet with outrage
Happy Birthday Les
Best wishes on your birthday Les from all at Trinity.

Open The Book
Here is the latest line up of the 'Open The Book' Team.
The 'Open the Book Team' presented the Bible story, “The Sad Day,” in the two Shifnal primary schools, and at Sherrifhales School on Monday 7th October.
“The Sad Day” told the story of Eve and Adam being tempted by the serpent in the garden of Eden.
Like any team they are always on the look out for new members. So if you are interested in joining this wonderful team, who are well received by children and staff alike when they go into schools, please do get in touch with Cathy Clayton.01952 416141
It is with great sadness that we hear of the death of Bill Handley.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Pat and the family at this sad time.
The funeral will take place on Friday 18th October at 10.30am at Trinity.
Please support Pat and family with your prayers at this sad time.
Happy Birthday Hendry
Congratulations to our minister the Revd. Hendry Ponniah on reaching another milestone birthday.
He kept it very quiet but couldn't cheat the stewards at Trinity who shared the secret and the cake at Hendry's 'Welcome Home' service along with a chorus of 'Happy Birthday' and party poppers.
Eagled eyed viewers can see Hendry's years young on the cake.
Welcome Back Hendry
On Friday 27th September 2019 the churches that Hendry ministers to, namely Trinity, Hadley and Albrighton got together at Trinity
to formally welcome Hendry back home from sabbatical.
Whist on sabbatical, Hendry had undertaken a mission to East Malaysia and Hendry shared photos and his reflections on his time away.
All three churches joined in providing a wonderful meal in true Methodist fashion and topped the evening by wishing Hendry a 'Happy Birthday' sharing in a glorious chocolate birthday cake. Welcome home Hendry!
Graduation Day in Mageragere, Rwanda
Malcolm Lloyd has recently been on another visit to Rwanda .
Not long ago Malcolm presented a cheque for £500 sent from Trinity for the purchase of sewing machines to be given to students unable to purchase their own machines.
While there on his latest visit Malcolm took these photos of a Graduation Ceremony in Mageragere. Those taking part were dressed in clothes that they had made themselves.
Having learned the skills and with a machine of their own these young people are able to earn themselves a living.
Trinity Harvest Festival
Members of, and visitors to, Trinity took part in their annual harvest festival in church surrounded by floral decorations displaying all the harvest colours.
The service was led by the Trinity Worship Team. Thanks go to all those involved in the preparation and in the leading of the service.
Many followed the tradition of bringing gifts of food to share and these were laid out at the front of church during the service to be shared through the local food bank afterwards.
Cash offerings made during the service will go to to support 'All We Can'.
'All We Can' is an international development and emergency relief organisation that
supports local people in some of the world’s poorest communities to find effective
solutions to poverty and injustice.
See how your money helps by visiting:
Come and join us. Services every Sunday morning 10.30am. You will be made most welcome.
It is with sadness that we hear the news of the death of 'Jim' Pooler.
Our prayers are with his wife Ursula and the family at this sad time.
Congratulations to June and George
Congratulations to George Gee who has celebrated his 90th Birthday.
Not only have George and June celebrated George’s birthday but this week was their 69th wedding anniversary.
Congratulations and best wishes from all at Trinity!
On Sunday 8th September at 4.00pm the Telford Methodist Circuit formally welcomed Rev. Christopher Parkes to the Circuit as Circuit Minister and the Revd. Hendry Ponniah as Circuit Superintendent Minister with a service at Wellington Methodist Church.
