Dear Friends,
Warm Christian greeting.
“Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all His splendour was dressed like one of these.” Luke 12:27
I felt as though, winter started for me on the 1st September when we got back from Malaysia. The temperature there was 36 degrees Celsius. At the airport, people were walking with only their T-shirts while we had to pull out our jumpers from the suitcase.
Over the past month things got back to normal.
October is a month of climate change as our minds focus on Harvest Festival weekend.Last week, I visited Attingham Park. The streets around us were filled with autumn leaves and gardens have an unkempt appearance. In spite of all the mess on the ground, when I looked up it was an amazing sight where the leaves were green, yellow, orange, red and brown. The rays of the sun shining through the trees were splendid. I felt as though I was moving through the Cathedral of nature. It was truly a brilliant sight that I could see the Glory of the Creator in His creation. There is a phenomenal change between the mess on the ground and the Glory in the sky.I was instantly reminded that there are many times we look at the mess on the ground and get discouraged, rather than looking up at the trees and seeing God’s Glory and be encouraged. Autumn is a time of great inspiration.
As we celebrate Harvest and autumn, may we acknowledge the Creator of the universe who is also the Creator of the human body, which is part of the wonder of His creation. As we praise and thank God for the earth and it’s resources, whatever our physical limitation and frailties, may we celebrate the amazing, complex and intricate God for creating us in His own image.
Every blessing,
Hendry Ponniah

Happy Birthday Sheila

Shelia Pendrey enjoys her birthday with friends at Coffee Morning
There was a large crowd at Coffee Morning on Wednesday 19th October making a special effort to support the StarCross Theatre Group.
Members were busy preparing stalls and selling things but had not forgotten that the day was also the birthday of one of our senior members Sheila Pendrey.
So when Sheila arrived to join her friends for coffee there was a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday" to welcome her.
Congratulations Sheila and may there be many more birthdays to celebrate.

New Superintendent Of The Telford Circuit
I’ve been asked to write a little bit about myself for the Shifnal website. It’s quite difficult to know

where to begin, but here goes….
Dennis and I have settled well into life at Bridgnorth since moving there last August. Dennis has just retired,
having spent most of his working life in IT. Our elder daughter Rachel lives and works in London, and our younger daughter Emma live and works in Leicestershire, which is where our family home is, and where I have lived for most of my life.
Before training for the ministry at Wesley House, Cambridge, I had spent all my working life in music—as a teacher and as a performer. As a singer I worked across the UK, in Europe, North and South America, in some amazing venues and met some amazing people.
In whatever free time I have I love reading, cooking, cinema, theatre and watching cricket!
My call to the ministry came quite out of the blue and was something I struggled with for some time. However, I find my life in ministry the most challenging and yet fulfilling experience, and God never fails to surprise me with his patience, his grace and his detailed knowledge of what I need and when I need it. I have learnt that God works most in us when we are at our most vulnerable, because that is when we learn what depending on God is all about.
Becoming Superintendent of the Telford Circuit is an enormous privilege.—one I neither sought nor expected. I hope to make the circuit a bit more connected, so that we can encourage one another, and support one another better. I am aware we face huge challenges in the year ahead. I will not have all the answers, but I am so glad that we worship the One Who Does!
